As I'm new here, I'm going to start sharing some of the things I've made over the years that may be interesting or useful to someone. First up, the web-based word clock I made in lockdown in April 2020 for people Broadcasting From Home to make giving time checks easier: http://suppertime.co.uk/radio-clock/

Thing #2 from my archive of things: I like making fonts and recreated a couple of the original 1984 Macintosh fonts as TrueType fonts using bitfontmaker2:
Chicago (renamed ChiKareGo after Susan Kare) http://www.suppertime.co.uk/blogmywiki/2017/04/chicago/
and Geneva, the Finder font:

I even found an Easter egg in Geneva!

Thing #3 from my archive of things: I made a very simple abstraction of machine learning so younger students can see a kind of #machineLearning happening in code they can understand. It uses a #Python program that teaches a computer a familiar maths concept: number bonds to 10.

Thing #4 from my archive of things: turn a BBC #microbit into a spooky Cold War numbers station with some #Python. You can try it out in the online editor's simulator, so no micro:bit required!

Thing #5 from my archive of things: smolBASIC, an idea for a very simple first text-based programming language, written in Python so students can extend it themselves:

Thing #6 is something a bit silly, originally designed to fit longer #microbit #Python programs in tweets, but perhaps it could help students look at text-based code in a different way: Emojify your Python http://www.suppertime.co.uk/blogmywiki/2022/04/emojify-your-python/

Thing #7 is an example of how writing computer code to simulate a problem can help you understand it: how coding a #Python program helped my brain unlock the Monty Hall problem. http://www.suppertime.co.uk/blogmywiki/2016/04/montyhall/

Things #8 - they could be heroes... I like dabbling in a bit of pointless graphic design, here are some of my heroes as fake Penguin-style book jackets: https://www.flickr.com/search/?sort=date-taken-desc&safe_search=1&tags=fauxdesign&user_id=97317828%40N00&view_all=1
Thing #9 has a link to #8: some authors and books that changed my life, thanks to the #Backlisted podcast plus a spooky and unexpected science fiction discovery: http://www.suppertime.co.uk/blogmywiki/2019/12/10-backlisted-episodes-that-changed-my-life/

Thing #10: I went to Walton-on-the-Naze to write a book and discovered that Walton Rocks! https://www.flickr.com/photos/gilesbooth/albums/72157620108923762
Walton Rocks!

I spent a weekend in Walton-on-the-Naze. And fell in love... with Walton-on-the Naze.
