A 16 exposure stack of #lightning shot over the course of about 45 minutes. #MultipleExposure
By far my most popular photo here so far.

@MikeHall Wow 😢

Just WOW! 😍

@MikeHall So beautiful 🌩⚑
@MikeHall Reminds me why I don't live in Arizona anymore during the Monsoon season.
@azmtbriwal I'd love to visit Arizona during that time. This storm was over the Ohio River between Kentucky & Indiana.
@MikeHall mother nature looks pissed
@MikeHall Big Trouble in Little China-esque

Out of interest, how do you actually go about doing this? Timer aperture exposure every x seconds or minutes, or are you manually setting off the shutter when you see a flurry of activity?
@iplaw67 I simply shoot long exposures, around 20 seconds with this set. I keep the camera on a secure mount to keep the landscape locked in frame. I simply set my camera's intervalometer to shoot continuously. When I got home, I picked out the best 16 exposures and combined them in Photoshop.
@MikeHall
Thanks for the tip! πŸ‘πŸ‘
@MikeHall Tremendous image of the Armageddon, for sure! I had no idea photographers would stack multiple exposures for weather photography. This lightning is terrifyingly beautiful.
@cobalt I don't stack images very often. Many times, I have to move the camera as the storm moves. 99% of my lightning photos are just a single exposure like this one...an 8 second exposure if I remember correctly.
@MikeHall Being in Arizona and a photographer, I regularly see spectacular skyscapes. There are some famous storm chasers here and the lightning or haboob images are stunning. You are very accomplished and have a great sense of composition.
@MikeHall Where? That's awesome.
@waxlyrical29 Over the Ohio River, bordering Kentucky & Indiana.

Cool pic.
If you could, it would be useful information if you noted the location, the direction of view, some timestamp, and direction of storm movement if any.
