Today is the Day I attempt to export my Followers from @cobalt because it’s going to vanish to ether as an existence. So I tried to use posts there and my profile bio and pinned posts to let folks who care know. So today I’m sharing a really fun iPhone photo for me.
I learned finally, how to force my phone to flash. Needed to get this closeup of a Jasmine flower that just volunteered on tiny miniature Jasmine plants I’ve been neglecting 2 years. Astonishing this could happen! Tomorrow I will plant the 4 surviving plants of the origin 6. I never took them out of the plastic multi-pack they came in.
To get the angle to show the white flower I had to try this about 30 times. It’s still not enough sharp but oh well. I kept it on glass shelves I have along the long stretch of windows with wood slat blinds.
I’m going that away—->

The main Fediverse platforms offer various protection tools: Mute and Block. For example, on Mastodon, the mute function can be set for a specific period of time. Mute means you won't see that person's posts, but you'll still be notified if they mention or tag you. A Block, on the other hand, means you don't want to see anything related to that person anymore. It's a much more radical action, useful if that person is disrupting your experience, offending you, or displaying any other serious behavior. In such cases, it’s important to file a report so administrators can take action and learn more about the user.
Sometimes I see advice to block immediately anyone posting content you don't want to see. In my opinion, if the content is simply not of interest to you, a mute is enough, while a block is more appropriate for people displaying clearly negative behavior.
Many platforms also offer filters: you can choose which words or hashtags you don't want to see and, accordingly, hide them. Filters can help personalize and improve your overall social experience.

Maybe you've worked with an unqualified trans person, woman, or Black person, or some other kind of marginalized person.
There is a key question though:
Have you ever worked with an unqualified white, cis, straight middle-aged man?
Do you think all white, cis, straight middle-aged men are incompetent and preferentially hired because of their identity rather than qualifications?
That's key. White men don't represent all w/ their identity. But somehow an incompetent marginalized person does?
This is the Quiet Part Out Loud™ alluding to the coming proscriptions:
“Here’s why this is so disturbing: If those people can be targeted simply for exercising their free-speech rights, then conceivably so can you if you stake a political sign in your front yard, slap a bumper sticker on your car, or try to persuade people on social media to vote for your candidate of choice.”
