Out of interest, how do you actually go about doing this? Timer aperture exposure every x seconds or minutes, or are you manually setting off the shutter when you see a flurry of activity?

@iplaw67 I simply shoot long exposures, around 20 seconds with this set. I keep the camera on a secure mount to keep the landscape locked in frame. I simply set my camera's intervalometer to shoot continuously. When I got home, I picked out the best 16 exposures and combined them in Photoshop.
