Also a reminder that crossposting back to bird site makes it easier for people to stay there and hides how folks are leaving.

Whether you continue to do that is up to you, of course, and will be dependent on how much your circles of friends have already jumped ship.

But if lots already have, consider not doing that to encourage friends to leave the main character battle arena site and join better alternatives.

@Pwnallthethings You raise some good points. However, given the massive difference in the users of Twitter versus Mastodon at the moment, deactivation from the latter is premature. No neutral tweets there! But use it to accelerate those switching to this site. There's a good case for cross posting. Wanna hear it? First of all, take celebs like @neilhimself. Should he abandon 3 million followers before he's brought them safely over here? Not in my opinion. Let's smuggle them here via lifeboats.

@Pwnallthethings I was traveling for work yesterday, and I found myself on a country road. This huge flock of birds 🐦 flew through the sky in front of my car. There had to be thousands of them. I took it as a good sign. It made me think of the Beatles song black bird.❤

@Pwnallthethings Deactivated last night. I’ve had my bird account since 2009. It was bittersweet but I truly believe the only way to send the message that none of the behavior is ok, is to sign off completely. Those saying they are staying to fight for the cause are just feeding the monsters.

@Pwnallthethings no offense intended but i see that as refusing to send a text message to get your friends to switch from Android to iPhone. I don't think anyone should be "forced" or 'made' to keep cross posting but if that's your only reason to stop I think that's kind of hurting more than helping.
