All the #yeasu #ft101 service manuals online are pretty low resolution.
This really hinders the ability to read the schematics and PCB diagrams.
Given I had an original manual on loan, I decided to scan all the important bits in 600 dpi:

When you have been diagnosing an #yeasu FT-101 for a week straight and suddenly it decided to get back on frequency before you could even see if it was the first or second IF that was off.
VFO was spot on though, imagine that after all these years.
First IF is off by 2 KHz but I don't think that really matters.
Someone has been in the mixer though and one transistor is replaced. Also they lifted TWO PADS FROM THE PCB WTH!.
I am repairing an Yeasu FT-101 and somehow the dial readout is 200KHz out with the receive frequency but the 100 and 25 KHz markers are still on frequency.
Should probably check all the IF stages but its a lot of work.
Also the preselector is completely out of wack I have to set it to 10 meters for practically every band to allow any signal through.
AM is also broken.
So far fixing faults on the low frequency board this includes the broken S meter and AM detector.
