@TheOneSwit @georgetakei Unfortunately, that link wants my email address. Looking at the title, only, my initial response would be "the problem is about significantly more than college affordability." There's a reason most of the American population — as evidenced by #CheetoMussolini's own communiques — speaks and reads at or below a sixth-grade level (and I assume that "sixth-grade" is relative to recent highschool standards, not the ones this particular #Xer had to deal with).

„»Sag das mal Felizian! Ich hab’ xim extra erklärt, xer soll die Walnüsse mit der hellbraunen, matten Schale besorgen, aber was macht xer? Xer holt die mit der karamellfarbenen Schale!«“

@cmconseils I mostly play in whatever the name for "medium" mode is. It's enough challenge to not be boring without being so challenging that it becomes a slog.

Wife generally prefers to play on easy mode, but will try to play at medium if we're playing co-op.

That said, it's been rather a while since I've powered on my gaming-console. With all the AAA game-makers all but abandoning campaign-mode, especially co-op campaign-mode (and, super-especially,
local co-op), we just don't find new games worthwhile. Cost of two gaming setups aside, "couch co-op" is a lot more fun than trying to play "together" when we're each in different parts of the house.

…and neither one of us finds online multi-play with total strangers to be enjoyable. Dunno if that last bit is just a side-effect of us being
#GenX.

Honestly, I don't know how online multi-play with nothing but strangers can be considered in the same breath of "social gaming" as "couch co-op". But, again, as an
#Xer — for whom LAN parties used to be a thing — sitting in a room, by yourself, with your individual gaming-setup just doesn't feel right.

This feels like an X anthem.

Situation gets rough, then I start to panic
It's not enough, it's just a habit
Hey, kid, you're sick
Well, darling, this is it

You can all just kiss off into the air
Behind my back, I can see them stare
They'll hurt me bad, but I won't mind
They'll hurt me bad, they do it all the time
Yeah, they do it all the time

I hope you know that this will go down on your permanent record

OK I'll bite - #Xer music for Generation X for #AlternateFridayMusic⁩ .

We spent most of the 1980s in the shadow of pending nuclear apocalypse so taking that, and a band with "X" in their name, how about "Dancing With Tears In My Eyes" by Ultravox.

And it's even on Bandcamp so I don't have to link to YouTube: https://ultravox.bandcamp.com/track/dancing-with-tears-in-my-eyes-steven-wilson-stereo-mix

I guess another #Xer anthem to consider is “We Didn’t Start the Fire” by Billy Joel. https://youtu.be/eFTLKWw542g

Apparently all of us Gen X people are posting about #Xer music for #alternatefridaymusic and it’s parsed “X-er” rather than being the neopronoun.

Some of these posts lament that we do not have a generational anthem like the boomers’ “My Generation” but I feel that we totally do, at least for those of us at the tail end: Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” https://youtu.be/hTWKbfoikeg

🎶 We are the nowhere generation
We are the kids that no one wants
We are a credible threat to the rules you set
A cause to be alarmed

But the finish line kept movin'
And the promises wore thin
And the smoke on the horizon
Was the burning promised land

And this place used to be somewhere
But they sold it out from under us 🎶
