From the engineering podcast "Well There's Your Problem" comes this two-hour review of the history of #Cincinnati's abandoned subway plans: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MNCk6AjeBQ
That's not even the only #WTYP connection in this campaign since the majority of it being set in an abandoned salt mine was inspired by the Lake Peigneur episode and because I thought the concept was so cool.
TL;DR a company in Louisiana was drilling for oil in a 10 feet deep lake and accidentally hit a salt mine which then sucked the entire lake including the oil rig down into it .
If you watch #wtyppod about engineering disasters, Alice has an iconoclastic opinion on things like expansion plates and swivel joints and the general flexibility of good engineering:
"No, make it more rigid!"
I have taken that to heart with some recent home improvement projects.
It's so fucked that you can be smearing guinea pig spleen on a petri dish, and be like "I am a good person", *and be right!*

Also I also had no clue Legionella was discovered less than half a century ago and is named after a party held at a hotel.
United Flight 232 passenger steps out of the mangled fuselage of the crashed plane, totally uninjured. He walks over to the battered cockpit, half an hour before first responders even identify that piece of the aircraft.
"You know why Iowa is called 'fly-over country'? BECAUSE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO FLY OVER IT!"
