Digital Mark λ ☕️ 8647TIL "Atari" (Infogrames Fr) actually owns the US Wizardry IP now. But not the JP IP which is running Daphne. *AND* there's an Atari version of Wizardry on Switch. Which is tempting.
I was considering running the giant Wizardry 1-3 image on an Apple ][ emulator, but that does seem to be kind of a pain in the ass.

Ben S.My brother randomly gifted me the #Wizardry 1 remake by Digital Eclipse.
It's pretty neat - a fair bit more accessible than the original.
It shows the original Apple 2 version running down in the bottom right-corner when in dungeons, except it's scaled badly (at least at 1200p) and doesn't emulate composite video artifact coloring?
It's also softlocked me twice now - when trying to remove and reorder characters at the tavern :(

AOE, Takashiふーむ、Wizardryの商標権はドリコムが持っているものの、今回Atariは "第1作〜第5作と、その基盤となるIPの全ての権利を取得した" ので "多くのファンがオリジナルの「ウィザードリィ」シリーズとして思い浮かべるキャラクター、舞台、世界観、表現要素の大部分はAtari社が別途所有する" ことになったと。
こうして見るとこれはドリコムにとって痛い結果になったのかもなあ。
