Tǒrshavn is beginning to look quite picturesque now, with the Vikings that live there working hard and adding beautiful builds. Lirindel, our resident shield-maiden has been particularly creative. She's built a stylised viking ship, as well as a house she calls "The Wizards Hat".
It's been a fun place, where Vikings are encouraged to do the things they enjoy most about the game and let their imaginations run free. At this point in the game, it's just #cozy #Valhiem
Earlier, in #Valhiem, I was hanging out with Gerla (@Firlefanz) working on the Tar Growth traps.
We managed to get the iron cages positioned so that the growths would spawn directly inside them. The only problem was that they'd then proceed to smash their way out.
Last night in #valhiem I tried to do some exploring in the Ashlands after fortifying my FOB with some more walls. I had some success, killing off a bunch of mobs, including a fallen valkyrie. I should have left well enough alone but I continued to explore with a full pack and depleted special powers. Of course I ran into a mob spawning point and quickly got overwhelmed... (continued)
Last night in #valhiem I got back to my quest to conquer the Ashlands after some time away.
I decided to try and fortify my FOB (forward operating base) by standing up a shield generator and completing my moat around the base.
In order to do that I had to find a couple molten cores that would allow me to build stone portals to bring in the necessary metals to build it. Those were in putrid holes and I had to fight some morgens to get through them. Luckily some dvrgrs were around to help!
AltGr used his old strategy of diffing a deep hole beneath the copper vein. That way he could both have a small shelter from the cold night sky, as well as almost a hideout from the wandering beasts.
Spent some quality time with #valhiem this weekend. My first project involved cleaning up my cooking setup - organizing my ingredients and adding a roof. I also created a hen house for my chickens, but didn't get a screenshot.
My second project involved building a forward operating base in the #Ashlands that was strong enough to withstand the mobs there. I built a stone cutter and used the stone that is readily available in the biome to build some walls. I even built a protected roof #pcgaming
