EU shows 'no appetite' to expand naval mission in Mideast
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas says despite U.S. President Donald Trump's appeal for other countries to help police the Hormuz Strait, there is "no appetite" to change the EU's current mission in the region, which consists of a fleet patrolling the Red Sea to protect transiting ships from attacks by Yemen’s Houthi rebel group.

Over the next few weeks, I will be tooting A LOT about one very special and fascinating #exoplanet system: #HIP41378.

The #star hosts 5 (+?) #exoplanets. Those exoplanets are #transiting in front of their host star which allow us to measure their radius. This #system is very special because the planets are orbiting at long orbital period. The 5 planets (called b, c, d, e, and f) have periods of 2 weeks, 1 month, 9 month, 1 yr and 1.5 yr (resp.).

OK, finally set up and ready for my #Introduction to #ScienceMastodon #Astrodon #TwitterMigration.
I work at the boundary of #stellar and #planetary #astrophysics, emphasizing #Mdwarfs #youngstars and #youngplanets. In particular, I want to learn how #planetarysystems #evolve from formation to maturity, including what early conditions give rise to systems like ours. I lead two surveys searching for young #transiting planets.

I'm also a dad to one infant and one orange cat.
