The tithe barn at Great Coxwell. It was built around 1292 and it served agriculture for almost 700 years. Originally the monks at Beaulieu Abbey in Hampshire received the tithes. Now it stands alone and silent except for winds and visiting doves, no longer used for agriculture but instead for occasional cultural events and is maintained by a conservation charity (The National Trust). This tithe barn is 7 bays wide, but some surviving English examples are up to 14 bays wide. Great Coxwell, Oxfordshire, England. March 2026.

The wonderful timber roof of the Tithe Barn at Bradford on Avon in West Wiltshire. Dating to around 1340, the barn was built to serve Barton Grange, a manor farm which belonged to the nuns of Shaftesbury Abbey. πŸ“Έ My own. #Woodensday #TitheBarn #BradfordOnAvon #Wiltshire

Scheduled for demolition this old pub in Preston, Lancashire, has been serving locals for over 200 years. It closed it's doors in February 2016 and has reached a point of no return. The damaged roof has let in the elements putting pressure on the walls and rotting the floors.
Soon only memories will remain.

A 15th century tithe barn. First it housed the one-tenth of produce farmers were required to hand over to the church. Then it was home to some cows. Now it’s empty aside from an occasional passing cyclist. #biketooter #tithebarn #nationaltrust
