The tithe barn at Great Coxwell. It was built around 1292 and it served agriculture for almost 700 years. Originally the monks at Beaulieu Abbey in Hampshire received the tithes. Now it stands alone and silent except for winds and visiting doves, no longer used for agriculture but instead for occasional cultural events and is maintained by a conservation charity (The National Trust). This tithe barn is 7 bays wide, but some surviving English examples are up to 14 bays wide. Great Coxwell, Oxfordshire, England. March 2026.

The configuration of this big stone barn in Lebanon, Pennsylvania is typical of many of the state's bank barns, allowing direct access to both floors. The stonework on this barn, with its arched windows and doors, makes it more elegant than most. See it full size at https://fineartamerica.com/featured/pennsylvania-bank-barn-karl-johnson.html
