How large was your first hard drive? Mine was 5mb. #throwbacktechsday
I found this old gem from 2003 in my basement. It's what we like to call an "MP3 player". The brand is Neuros. The darker grey part contains a 20gb spinning hard drive that could be swapped for a larger one. It also has a built in FM transmitter. This thing was so cool in the day feature wise but looks a heck of a lot like a stud finder. Still working after almost 20 years. My 1st browser game was World of Dungeons, aka WOD, a text based fantasy RPG. I mostly played a Juggler called Pilgrim von Passau and an Archer/Knight named Brunhild von Island. Some friends from my Clan played it with me for many years and we were one of the best groups and famous for PVP, group + clan matches, and item trading ๐Ÿ˜Ž Did you ever play a browser game and which was it?

My 2nd hand held gaming experience was with the first Nintendo Game Boy. I loved playing Gargoyle's Quest much, but also multiplayer game F-1 Race was great fun with the cable adapter for 4 players. It was like an early LAN-Party ๐Ÿ˜‚ Did you also own a Game Boy and what was your favourite game on it? I mean besides the all time classic Tetris ๐Ÿ˜‰

As you may know, I started the #ThrowBackTechsday category on Thursdays here in the Fediverse, and this would be a great story to share with this hashtag. I really like to hear it.

My 2nd cut 4 the world of freedom was when I switched my complete household 2 Linux. It was a big sacrifice as it meant the end of my ESL gaming career, as nearly no games or anti cheat tools worked on Linux ๐Ÿ˜” But I discovered WINE & at least on LAN Parties & my own servers I was able to play Counter-Strike 1.6 ๐Ÿ˜Ž Did u completely ban Win from your household & what was the biggest loss 4u?

My first remarkable PC game was Space Quest 5. I started with 4, but the 5th episode is burned into my mind, because we played it all together and solved the game via HAM radio. ๐Ÿ˜Ž When someone found a solution, it was told the others over the air, who tried it immediately ๐Ÿ˜Š Do you have an old game that is still on your mind due to a special story behind?

My first cut for the world of freedom was when I quit ICQ and switched to XMPP in 2006. It was a big sacrifice, as everyone was using ICQ and I lost almost 95% of my contacts ๐Ÿ˜” But I discovered Pidgin aka Gaim and learned a lot about freedom and started to dig deeper into the free software world ๐Ÿ˜Ž Do you still use XMPP and what client do you use?

My first bike was a Blitz 405 and I drove it till the frame broke. ๐Ÿ˜Ž I had to make a licence and practical test at school with the Police to be allowed to drive it to school and I had to wear an orange warning cap, because I had to cross 2 main streets. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Do you remember your first bike and a funny story connected to it?
