Morgen zu Kaffee und Plätzchen eingeladen worden...
Also muss ich heute noch nen #ThinClient mit #HomeAssistant installieren um den verreckten Pi zu ersetzen...
Say hello to our official mascot, Bitto! 👋

@hellomiakoda depends.
I can run @torproject / #TorBrowser on @tails_live / @tails / #Tails on a hp t620 #ThinClient with 4GB RAM, GX-217GA CPU and shared memory iGPU!
I really am pissed about #hp right now.
Cuz I got to service an #t520 #ThinClient - nothing fancy but still.
I want to restore the #WindowsEmbeddedStandard7 on it because the previous owner didn't and it's kinda useless without admin privilegues.
So I checked on the hp website and found that they "serial-wall" the access to any #WES7 images (propably to appease #Microsoft) behind a prompt to enter the device's serial number.
Fortunately, that device was sold & shipped with WES7 and even has a license key, so I enter the one from the devices's label and get told "Serial Number Invalid".
I boot the device into it's UEFI to verify things and take a photo of the Serial # displayed there (which is the same but just to be shure I retried.
HP still claims the serial # is invalid, and since they won't provide support without a valid serial #, I'm really pissed.
Anyone else had this problem?
Cuz I'm pretty shure no reasonable lawyer would take on a case for hardware that sells for €20 on eNay and is 11+ years old by now.
Also whoever decided that #WindowsEmbedded should be #OEMwalled is the reason why noone want to use that mess...
I couldn't sleep last night so I wrote an an extremely simple IOS app allowing an iPhone 17 Pro to display the web browser in the native resolution of an external display.
Then I discovered artificial limitations with keyboard and mouse input on an external display.
I figured having a pocket-able thin-client with wireless input and wearable displays was a solved case based on the technology stack.
I wrote a perhaps snarky feature request in Apple's community support forum - which got removed.
Wrote a nicer version here:

Any advice on next steps?

Ich hab hier einen Fujitsu #ThinClient Futro S720
CPU: 2196 MHz
RAM: 2048 MB
Was könnte ich damit denn anstellen? Irgendjemand eine Idee?
