I gotta say that the end gave me more #comedy vibes than #BodyHorror vibes.

Cependant, bien que #Frankenstein mérite évidemment le prix, je remettrais ma statuette personnelle à #TheUglyStepsister, hybride norvégien de #TheSubstance et des contes des frères Grimm, qui faisait également partie de mon top 10 2025.

Dieser Abnehmpillen-#Horrorfilm aus Australien hat es sowohl aufs #SundanceFilmFestival als auch auf die #Berlinale 2026 geschafft. Warum aber, das wissen wir nicht. Daniel & der Kaffeemann sahen darin nur ein schon mehrmals wiederaufgewärmtes Mikrowellengericht, wie ein halbgar aufgetischter Versuch, #TheSubstance, #Raw und #ItFollows ohne eigene Würze irgendwie geschmacklos zu vermengen.

Obviously I watched Revenge because it was directed by Coralie Fargeat, the director of current world-wide phenomenon The Substance. Even though Revenge is her directorial debut, I didn't not think it would be a bad film going into it, based on what I know about The Substance. And my expectations were pretty much met exactly.
