Il Tempo: Difesa, anche Parigi approva l'aumento spesa militare: "Crescente minaccia"

Fra i paesi interessati a voler incrementare la spesa militare non c'è solo l'Italia. Il quadro internazionale, che unisce crisi economica a pericolo conflitto, sta spingendo le cancellerie europee a ripensare il proprio modello di sicurezza e investire maggiori risorse per provvedere a tecnologie e mezzi utili per accrescere la propria difesa. 
Oggi si è inserita in questa scia anche la Francia, dove l'Assemblea Nazionale ha approvato un aumento di 36 miliardi della spesa militare che porta a un totale di 436 miliardi il bilancio della difesa per il periodo dal 2024 al 2030. "Questa legge ci permette di rispondere alla crescente minaccia" ha dichiarato il ministro della Difesa, Catherine Vautrin dopo il voto.
 
Secondo Vautrin, occorrerà un successivo provvedimento sulla struttura delle forze armate "alla luce dell'evoluzione della situazione geostrategica". Il testo è stato approvato in prima lettura con 440 voti favorevoli e 122 contrari, e sia Rassemblement National sia i Socialisti hanno votato a favore. Il resto della sinistra, a partire da La France Insoumise, si è opposta e ha paventato una "minaccia alle libertà civili". Il disegno di legge dovrebbe essere votato dal Senato il prossimo 2 giugno.

Defense, even Paris approves increased military spending: "Growing threat."

Among the countries interested in increasing military spending, Italy is not alone. The international picture, which combines economic crises with the danger of conflict, is pushing European chancelleries to rethink their security model and invest more resources to provide technologies and means useful for strengthening their defense.

Today, France also joined this trend, where the National Assembly approved a military spending increase of 36 billion, bringing the defense budget to 436 billion for the period of 2024 to 2030. “This law allows us to respond to the growing threat,” declared Defense Minister Catherine Vautrin after the vote.

According to Vautrin, a subsequent measure on the structure of the armed forces “in light of the evolution of the geopolitical situation” will be necessary. The text was approved in a first reading with 440 votes in favor and 122 against, with both Rassemblement National and the Socialists voting in favor. The rest of the left, starting with La France Insoumise, opposed it and warned of a “threat to civil liberties.” The bill is expected to be voted on by the Senate next June 2nd.

Il Tempo: Alpini, orgoglio italiano: dopo 25 anni l'Adunata Nazionale torna a Genova

Dalle emergenze di protezione civile, alle crisi internazionali. La lunga storia degli alpini è fatta di simboli e tradizioni, ed è profondamente radicata nel presente che ogni anno si ritrova. Dopo 25 anni, tornano a Genova per la 97ª con l'adunata nazionale che si terrà domenica 10 maggio. Al riguardo, la presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha voluto rivolgere il suo "ringraziamento a un corpo che rappresenta coraggio, sacrificio, spirito di servizio e amore per la Patria. Gli Alpini sono un orgoglio italiano".
Le penne nere furono cruciali nel terremoto del Friuli, di cui è da poco passato il cinquantesimo anniversario, ma anche in tante missioni di pace internazionale a partire dal Libano. Sono 400mila le persone previste a Genova per un anniversario profondamente sentito e ammirato dal Paese.
Anche il ministro della Difesa Guido Crosetto, oggi a Genova per un saluto ai partecipanti, ha omaggiato gli Alpini: "Un bagno di spirito positivo di persone con valore, pronte a far festa e a sacrificarsi quando serve, un po' di ossigeno per l'anima".

From civil protection emergencies to international crises. The Alpine Corps’ long history is made of symbols and traditions, and is deeply rooted in the present that it finds itself in each year. After 25 years, they return to Genoa for the 97th assembly, with the national gathering taking place on Sunday, May 10th. Regarding this, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni wanted to express her “gratitude to a body that represents courage, sacrifice, a spirit of service, and love for the Fatherland. The Alpini are an Italian pride.”

The “Black Pens” were crucial in the Friuli earthquake, the 50th anniversary of which recently passed, but also in numerous international peacekeeping missions starting in Lebanon. An estimated 400,000 people are expected in Genoa for a deeply felt and admired anniversary by the country.

Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, who is in Genoa today to greet the participants, also paid tribute to the Alpini: “A positive dose of spirit from people of value, ready to celebrate and sacrifice when needed, a little oxygen for the soul.”

L'Unità: Slovenia, il premier Golob ferma l’avanzata del populista Janša: vittoria di un soffio contro l’alleato di Orban

Di un soffio, e col difficile orizzonte delle intese da trovare per formare una coalizione per governare il Paese, ma Robert Golob ha ottenuto una importante vittoria in Slovenia.
Il primo ministro e leader del Movimento per la libertà, 59 anni, ha vinto con un margine risicato la battaglia elettorale che ha spaccato il Paese: ex uomo d’affari, già alla guida del governo assieme a Socialdemocratici e Sinistra, Golov è riuscito a recuperare nei sondaggi lo svantaggio contro il suo sfidante.
Il Movimento per la Libertà di Golob ha conquistato il 28,6% dei voti e 29 seggi, vincendo di misura contro il leader nazionalista Janez Janša, già tre volte primo ministro e capo del Partito Democratico Sloveno che si è fermato al 27,9% e 28 seggi: Janša, imprenditore che politicamente è vicino a Donald Trump ma soprattutto a Viktor Orban, il più filo-russo tra i leader europei, si è detto pronto a contestare il risultato citando dati del suo stesso partito che lo davano in vantaggio.
Un esito finale in parte sorprendente, quello del voto sloveno. I sondaggi davano infatti in vantaggio Janša, ma la sua campagna elettorale è stata danneggiata dagli appelli di Golob contro la possibile deriva illiberale del Paese sotto la guida del rivale nazionalista, sul modello ungherese, e dalla scoperta grazie ad una inchiesta giornalistica che lo stesso Janša ha utilizzato una società privata israeliana di intelligence per screditare l’attuale premier.
Una vittoria, quella di Golob, che apre a diversi scenari politici. Il primo ministro si è detto pronto a rivolgersi a tutti i partiti che hanno seggio nell’Assemblea Nazionale, composta da 90 seggi, ad eccezione ovviamente del Partito Democratico Sloveno di Janša.
La presidente del Paese, Natasa Pirc Musar ha dichiarato che nominerà incaricato di formare il governo il candidato che per primo otterrà almeno 46 voti in Parlamento. Golob si rivolgerà presumibilmente ai Socialdemocratici (che hanno ottenuto il 6,7%), alla lista congiunta progressista Sinistra-Vesna (6,3%), ai Democratici (5,9%) e a Resni.ca (5,2%), partito nato da un movimento no-vax.

Slovenia, Prime Minister Golob halts the advance of populist Janša: victory by a narrow margin against Orban’s ally

With a breath, and with the difficult horizon of agreements to find to form a coalition to govern the country, Robert Golob has achieved an important victory in Slovenia.

The prime minister and leader of the Movement for Freedom, 59 years old, won with a narrow margin the electoral battle that has split the country: former businessman, previously leading the government alongside Social Democrats and Left, Golob managed to recover in the polls the disadvantage against his challenger.

The Movement for Freedom of Golob has won 28.6% of the votes and 29 seats, winning narrowly against the nationalist leader Janez Janša, previously three times prime minister and head of the Slovenian Democratic Party, who stopped at 27.9% and 28 seats: Janša, an entrepreneur politically close to Donald Trump but especially to Viktor Orban, the most pro-Russian among European leaders, said he was ready to contest the result citing data from his own party that gave him the advantage.

An outcome in part surprising, that of the Slovenian vote. The polls gave Janša the advantage, but his electoral campaign was damaged by Golob’s appeals against the possible illiberal drift of the country under the guidance of the nationalist rival, on the model of Hungary, and by the discovery thanks to an investigative journalism that the same Janša used an Israeli private intelligence company to discredit the current prime minister.

A victory, that of Golob, which opens up to various political scenarios. The prime minister said he was ready to address all parties that have seats in the National Assembly, composed of 90 seats, with the exception of course of the Slovenian Democratic Party of Janša.

The president of the country, Natasa Pirc Musar has declared that she will appoint an interim to form the government to the candidate who will first obtain at least 46 votes in Parliament. Golob will presumably address the Social Democrats (who obtained 6.7%), the joint progressive list Left-Vesna (6.3%), the Democrats (5.9%) and Resni.ca (5.2%), a party born from a no-vax movement.
