#Quantel came up 1981 with the #Paintbox DPB-7001. It was the first 68K CPU based #digital-painting, #imagegediting solution that challenged big players like #Scitex #Crossfield #Hell. Next time #Xerox #SuperPaint became important it was in legal defense for #AdobePhotoshop.

However, the #vector #graphic #illustration of the #legendary #DPB7001 #retrocomputing #hardware and #GUI are made with #Inkscape, not #Adobe #Illustrator #Ai #CC
Those #vectorgraphics are known as #infographics or #schematics to a few #computer #graphic #geeks. #IT's how #SuperPaint worked #1973 for the first #digital #artists. Deeply embedded #CGI #irony is that this #legendary #image-editor is reconstructed in #vector #tech, not #pixel. The #Art work isn't realized with #Xerox #InterPress, nor #Adobe #Illustrator / #PostScript, but made with #opensource #FreeSoftware #Inkscape and #SVG
This piece of #PopArt was among the very first #digitalArt works made in color with #Amiga 1000 home computer hardware on a #16bit #Motorola #CPU. Even when #RichardShoup's #SuperPaint was available a decade earlier, it couldn't challenge #DeluxePaint. Of course 1985 #AndyWarhol was a big #PR stunt for #Commodore, but his #pixelPOP #art was lost on 3.5" #floppydisk's for over three decades.

#SVG #vectorart #cgi #digiPopArt #portrait #retrocomputer #illustration made with #FOSS #Inkscape, not #Adobe #Illustrator
