Is there a way to tell Apple Watch to stop switching away from the main watch face to some sort of tumbler of widgets just because you’ve opened an app on your phone? Perhaps a preference setting?

I suppose, because there are situations you may not ~mind~ if that’s happened, the easiest solution would be to tap the watch back to its main watch face.
