Another post reminded me of this.
Years ago I took Washington State ferries everyday to work.
It seemed there was always some loud jackass holding forth with his views (91.23% men) on things. Then the new ferries had a smaller upstairs room that became the quiet room. Very low talking was barely tolerated while the boat was in the dock. The minute it left you had better STFU lest you get the stink eye, the evil eye and then be shushed.
