I am really, really looking for different words to describe this mushroom autumn, but I end with the rather boring word “extreme” every time 🤷🏼‍♀️

When the porcini (steinsopp) is as fresh as this I eat it raw. Just some sliced mushroom over my salad for lunch.

Btw, if I had sold all the boletus I have found this year, I would be a wealthy woman indeed.

This might be Boletus reticulatus (bleklodden steinsopp), but I must admit I find it difficult to differentiate all the porcinis 🍄‍🟫

I found it in a park in Motala, Sweden, and there were lots and lots of them. Good looking too.

Another family portrait this September, the Boletus, the penny bun.
They are a little late to the party but they have arrived in abundance.

This is a story about the friendliness of others.

Today I went on a 70 km long bike ride to check if a forest I met last year would invite me to find some mushrooms. It was too dry, nothing to find, and I was on my way home again when I spotted a man with a - ! - bicycle basket and a boletus. So I stopped him, and we chatted all things mushrooms. I asked if I could take a photo, and sure, no problem.
- Can I give you the mushroom, he asked in broken Norwegian.
It took me some convincing, I would never have given away my boletus if I had found one!
- I have many at home.
And added what is my sincere opinion too.
- The find is the fun.

Another week or so, and they will be here again 😋 They start to appear here in Norway around late July, early August, and this year I think we’ll see them earlier because of the spring and lots of rain. I guess we’ll have a perfect year for mushrooms 🍄‍🟫
