🇫🇷 Bonjour! Cette statue en basalt est posée à l'endroit où se trouvait dans le passé une rampe de chargement pour le chemin de fer, la gare étant toute proche. Elle a été érigée en forme de souvenir à l'époque où des centaines de wagons étaient chargés de patates pour les amener dans la région de Köln et de la Ruhr.

🇬🇧 Good morning! This basalt statue is placed where a loading ramp for the railway was located in the past, the station being very close. It was erected as a souvenir at a time when hundreds of wagons were loaded with potatoes to bring them to the Köln and Ruhr region.

Das #Sandmännchen ist schon seit Beginn das Maskottchen des Magdeburger Elbauenparks. 2024, zum 25. Parkjubiläum, ist auch #Pittiplatsch dazugekommen. Beide sind mit über 1.000 Pflanzen geschmückt und wechseln zwischen einem bunten Sommer- und einem immergrünen Winteroutfit.

The Sandman, star of a popular German children's TV programme since 1959, has been the mascot of Magdeburg's #Elbauenpark since its opening. For the park's 25th anniversary in 2024, the Sandman's friend Pittiplatsch (a kobold) also moved in. Both are dressed in 1,000+ plants and have floral summer and evergreen winter outfits ready.

In Brno (#Brünn) haben wir diese lustige JGA-Truppe aus Österreich in kreischig-retromäßigen Neonoutfits getroffen. Einer von uns musste der zukünftigen Braut noch einen Schnaps aus dem Trinkrucksack abkaufen. Im Gegenzug haben wir ihnen empfohlen, ein Selfie unter der #Reiterstatue* im Hintergrund zu machen. Das ist nämlich sehr beliebt. Aus Gründen. 😁 Vielleicht seht ihr ihn im zweiten Bild.

* Die #Statue namens Odvaha ("Mut") zeigt Jobst von Mähren auf seinem Ross. Sie wurde von Jaroslav Róna geschaffen und 2015 aufgestellt.

In #Brno, we met this fun hen do from Austria wearing bold neon retro outfits. One of us had to buy a shot from the bride-to-be's liquor backpack. In return, we told them to take a selfie beneath the equestrian statue in the background – a popular thing to do in Brno. The second image might give you an idea why. 😁

* The statue, called #Odvaha ("Courage"), depicts Jobst of Moravia on his horse. It was created by Jaroslav Róna in 2015.
