Australia's supposed independent, progressive news source The Saturday Paper is really slipping. It's hired the nation's favourite right-wing pseudo-intellectual who has taken time out from questioning whether our "Cartesian duality" is still fit for purpose (seriously he wrote a column on that) to randomly bash Kamala Harris for ... whatever the right-wing press is saying, except with bigger words. Sad to see the Sat Paper going down the drain. I decided not to renew when this subscription runs out.

@PeterWyrm I didn't vote in your poll, coz with respect i think the actual situation is slightly more nuanced. I have no proof of the following, tis all just my personal conjecture & conclusions, & might be a load of wombat cubes.
- ABC journos [including editors] are terrified of being [as has been happening since possibly Fraser, but definitely #WarCriminal] smeared as "left biased" by the insane immoral incoherent #RWNJ Liebs, Nuts & acolytes. Hence, they collectively & individually internally over-correct, which manifests in...
- ...having far too many #RWNJ faces, voices & words on their platforms, which ill they then compound by...
- inadequately, but tbh often never, assertively pushing back at the overt lies with real-time corrections & statements of the objective facts.
- if not already covered above, i sense that the ABC neutrality charter is either being naively misused, innocently misinterpreted, or wilfully weaponised by some staff who are personally #RWNJ-oriented, to ease the way for the litany of egregious #RWNJ subjects & interviewees to have an unchallenged clear run at promulgating their lies.
- then, there's the whole mess of the outrageously immoral middle/senior management silence when #StanGrant was left undefended to be consumed by the jackals & wolves ... in my opinion this was craven cowardice to not aggressively defend him in real-time.
