Please vote for local government elections and tick yes to Māori Wards if there is a referendum in your area.
The bloomin’ thing hasn’t even been voted on in the California state senate yet and already tonight I receive a mailer from the enemies of democracy. CALIFORNIANS, VOTE YES IN THE SPECIAL ELECTION NOVEMBER 4!!!
#california #voteYES #specialelection #november4 #democracy #democrats
The only one good thing I can say about the upcoming #Referendum24 is that our political parties are now suddenly talking about disability rights.
Of course it’s too little too late.
The decisions to support the #VoteYes would never have happened if the policy makers within the parties included PWD in their decision making but from what I can see all the emphasis was on gender and not 1) Who is being cared for 2) Why and 3) Some of them are also disabled women.
Whatever way you’ll be voting in the upcoming referendum I think we should all agree that the official #VoteYes campaign has been horrendous, full of misinformation, scaremongering and propaganda.
This latest poster is, quite frankly, disgusting.
To imply that people with disabilities or carers who have major concerns about the new wording so are encouraging a No vote don’t “care” is horrendous and offensive.
