Early this week #Firefox randomly reset my open tabs. Probably for the best, but I'm still sad about those 400+ tabs.
However, I just noticed #sideberry can snapshot your open tabs. It's off by default, so if you use Sideberry, you might want to enable it.
It's rather nifty, I have it set to back up once a day, and hold onto the last 3 snapshots.
@vkc I got them available in some experiment, enabled them and in a few weeks it suddenly dissapeared breaking Firefox UI so much I started from a fresh profile. And this is an official Mozilla flatpak.
Installed #sideberry and will never look back.
Just my two cents. Your mileage may vary.
#Firefox 133.0 update broke the UI. Was not able to switch to any tab. Look like enabling vertical tabs was a mistake in a hindsight. --safe-mode and start without extensions was the only one way forward.
Moved to #sideberry extension for vertical tabs. Great to see it can manage containers too.
Okay. As one of my attempts to make a viral post, let me make a poll:
Since you're probably on desktop, and using a browser to read this post, may I ask you: do you use vertical tabs or prefer horizontal ones?

Hello. I've spent all night [tis my 05:30am atm] exploring & playing with #Floorp, & there's two basic things now that i am having trouble believing:
1. How sensationally good it now is. 🎉
2. How sensationally idiotic & naive my 20Sept toot was! 🤦♀️
As both of you already inferred, Floorp at its current stage of development & sophistication is like some sweet love-child of #Vivaldi & #Firefox. It is so very admirable how much its Devs have achieved in such a comparatively brief time, albeit with a quite rapid release cadence.
I've configured it with #Sideberry on the LHS, its Vivaldi-esque Panel on the RHS [with multiple sites now added to it as Web Panels], all my same #AddOns from
installed & their respective data imported. It looks great & is working oh so very well! 💜
I appreciate its cool Profiles Switcher button, Notes web panel, autohiding bookmarks bar, & intelligent base settings. I like it so much now that i have decided to make this my new default browser in lieu of my good ol' trooper #FirefoxNightly.
The only minor downer for me, so far, is that initially i had sought to ascertain if i didn't need #Sidebery in Floorp but rely instead on its native #VerticalTabs & #Workspaces. Indeed these are both good, but after some hours of experimentation i decided to disable the #Workspaces & vertical tabs, & instead install Sidebery with all my configs of it from Nightly. Why? =
- after many years of #TreeStyleTab & then Sidebery in Nightly, my requirements of a putative native vertical tabs solution are many & high wrt features & functions, not only but certainly including infinite tab stack nesting. Afaict, Floorp's native vertical tabs are flattened not tree structure, & so without any tab stacking/grouping capability.
- also, i need tabs to be isolated on a per-Workspace basis, but afaict that's not possible with Floorp's native items [pls correct me if i'm wrong]. Changing workspaces still retained all the same tabs visible, which fundamentally contradicts the whole workspaces paradigm.
Nonetheless, upon reflection, even with the disappointment of needing to disable those two native features, i still concluded that migrating from Nightly to Floorp was advantageous, because of all the granular detailed Settings, the nice Profile button, the nice Panel, et al.
It seems to me that advanced users of both #Firefox & #Vivaldi really might want to have a serious look at Floorp.
