The recent authoritarian overreach isn't new to me. I grew up in a religious tradition of the same flavor. One day I want to finish writing about it. But until then, I'm taking the power back. Receiving this letter was once feared more than hellfire itself. For no reason.

You Are Enough

Reflecting on it now, it seems rather astonishing that I was taught by a religion that we are inherently sinful and wicked, and that we need someone else to make us whole. This teaching emphasized our flaws and imperfections. It’s understandable why so many people feel unable to meet such incredibly unattainable standards.

Just a reminder: you are amazing just as you are. You are enough. And you don’t need validation from those who don’t appreciate you for simply doing your best.
