The style of the director Kanbe Mamoru is also based on that of the live-action movies, especially on the Japanese black-and-white masterpieces. "Elfen Lied", "The Perfect Insider", and some episodes of "Soranowoto" (song of the sky) used calm long takes and emotional low horizontal angles.
The lighting is at the highest level of reality as the seasonal anime. Even the reflected images in the glass are depicted. (It will be utilized to the fullest at the climax!) Environmental sounds enhance the atmosphere.

His style is suitable for both the speculative conversation drama of the daily mystery and the characters with less comical exaggerations. Voice actors are ordered to perform "naturally" in this work, too. (*More comments in ALT.)
