I finished my last big knitting project in June 2024 (socks are lifesavers). I left on Friday with my swatch drying. I really like the colour combination, which reminds me of the sunset over Penfret Island (Glénan Archipelago, Brittany, France).

I've only used that technique once and I was absolutely paranoid so I made sure to use "real" Shetland yarn. And it went well. And I still love the experience (even when the garment - a cardigan for a little girl - has long moved on after my daughter grew of it).
But reading this makes me suspicious even after my good experience.

A bend gules: dabbler in artsMore processing of frogged Shetland yarn. After frogging and soaking, I spent 3 evenings of brainless TV on the ball winder. They'll go into the Fair Isle sweater or, if I'm lucky In quantities, secondary projects.

ClothwrightNew tea cozy for this morning's tea. I love how yarn like this softens and melds after washing. This is a little tall for the current pot, but that's ok, a variety of teapots are to be had.

Decided to stay up and finish the swatch. Two episodes of Father Brown later, i-cord loop complete, inside yarn ends trimmed. Colors in the photo are not at all true. It's going in a hot bath now and I'll get another picture tomorrow.
