On Shared Spaces...
New legislation has been proposed by Sup. Safai that would significantly reduce the amount the City charges for parklets/dining sheds.
For instance, for a typical two space parklet, the city fees would be reduced from $4500 to apply and $4000 per year to just $4000 for year.
Since the old charges did not cover the cost to the City of administering the program, this represents a fairly significant savings to the restaurant association at the expense of the City budget.
(Originally those charges were halved for a business with gross receipts less that $2m; that threshold has been raised to $2.5m)
Title: Ordinance amending the Public Works and Administrative Code to eliminate permit fees for Curbside <font style="background-color: Yellow">Shared</font> <font style="background-color: Yellow">Spaces</font> and increase the gross receipts threshold from $2,000,000 to $2,500,000 for reductions to annual Curbside <font style="background-color: Yellow">Shared</font> <font style="background-color: Yellow">Spaces</font> license fees; affirming the Planning Department’s determination under the California Environmental Quality Act; and making findings of consistency with the General Plan, and the eight priority policies of Planning Code, Section 101.1.

- Pi
- Ancora
- Phat Philly
- Hawker Fare
- Chezchez
- Barzotto
- The Phoenix (building to be demolished for apartments)
