The final photo (for now at least) from my recent trip to Japan. In the town of Uji is the historic Byodo-in Temple, a Japanese national treasure. The temple was built in 1053 and houses a Buddha statue from that era. The building is so treasured, that it appears on the 10 yen coin. The temple and its gardens are so beautiful. I liked the framing of the temple between the trees with the reflection in the water below.

Nara Park is a large urban park that abuts a natural area next to the Todai-ji Temple. Over 1,000 semi-wild deer hang out in the park, interact with visitors, and mooch for food. Authorized vendors in the park sell special "deer crackers" so tourists can feed the animals. The deer are everywhere! Feeding the deer is generally considered a must-do activity when visiting Nara.
