At Hackfest 2025, we were honored to host a panel discussion featuring Captain Shivom Sharman (CAFCYBERCOM), Ian Gabriel (Canadian Centre for Cyber Security), and Dr. Bernhards 'BB' Blumbergs (CERT.LV).

The panel "Hunting bears with your friends: how Latvia and Canada joined forces in cyberspace" explored how two nations built a frontline cyber defence against persistent threats through trust, collaboration, and shared expertise.

"Effective collaborative cyber defence isn't just about systems and software. It's about the people, expertise, and partnerships which allow you to adapt to new threats."

Au Hackfest 2025, nous avons eu l'honneur d'accueillir une table ronde avec le Capitaine Shivom Sharman (CAFCYBERCOM), Ian Gabriel (Centre canadien pour la cybersécurité) et Dr. Bernhards 'BB' Blumbergs (CERT.LV).

La table ronde « Hunting bears with your friends: how Latvia and Canada joined forces in cyberspace » a exploré comment deux nations ont construit une défense cybersécuritaire de première ligne contre les menaces persistantes grâce à la confiance, la collaboration et l'expertise partagée.

“The important lesson here is the focus on resilience and adaptation,” DHS’s Goldstein elaborated to Breaking Defense after the panel. “Even the most effective defenses are not invulnerable, and every organization needs to focus not only on strong security and progressing towards zero-trust models, but also ensuring the resilience of the most critical functions — which the Ukrainians have demonstrated ably.”
