emily, blinkenlight witch#opsec thing I don't have good intuition for but probably should: which Numbers On Things are identifying information?
Model numbers of common devices seem fine, IP addresses are situational, phone or street numbers obviously not fine.
But, like, should I be censoring MAC addresses if I post photos that happen to include them? Serial numbers of things? I know what these numbers *are* but I don't have a good idea of how many people have access to lists of them.

I know people like to have fun at these protests, but these are going to go from party to dangerous very quickly with our regime. Occupy was a warm-up, blm was an escalation. Jan 6th showed just what we can do with public images and tracking down protestors.
If you remember Operation Chanology(Clambake was the active op name?) where anon organized and attack scientology, the in person protests were intense. Scientology is well known for surveilling opposition and harassing people that are critical of the cult. We had to practice good identity protection, to, at and from every in-person protest. Masks on when getting on public transit, masks on all the time at the protest we were actively surveilled. If somebody had to take off their mask for any reason, we formed a in obscuring circle around them so they can do what they needed to do without their face being seen. Masks on all the way to public transit back to your circuitous route home. I was followed, others were followed. Many were harassed. And that was just a private small organization.
Now you're dealing with a government with plantiar and a massive surveillance apparatus that's been operating for 20+ years.
Mask up.
Obscure your identity.
Protect your identification at all costs. There will be retribution for the protests this weekend, and all going forward. Take a serious look at some of these guides on how to arrive and leave from protests without being followed or identified.
We're at war with our own government, folks.
Start acting like it.
