Hartlepool Beach

Taken on my first photography visit to Hartlepool in Nov 2024. This photo was a bit of an afterthought so unshared till now.

The sun had just broken free of the clouds and was casting golden light across the sand, I decided to take this last shot as I walked away from photographing the posts.

Morning Walk

I have several images of this great blue heron (Ardea herodias), and I really enjoy them, so please forgive me for sharing one every so often. I initially intended to post this as a black and white photo but then aimed for a selective color image by keeping everything black and white except for the sandbar. Although I don't think I quite achieved that effect, I still like the image.

Boom ... I typed the day correctly this morning and didn't launch us 12 months into the future by typing December.

This morning, I arose at about five-thirty and let the dogs out - just in case you're wondering who. Because of the stray puppy, I had to go out and stand on the crunchy snow hoping he will go to the bathroom. It's extra cold for Louisiana this morning, 15°F (~ -9°C). Charlie still isn't taking to the puppy; I plan to call the shelter this morning when it warms up. In Louisiana when it gets cold like this everything shuts down, at least in Vernon Parish, they don't have the equipment to keep the roads clear of ice.

St Mary's Lighthouse

The sun was late to show up this morning as the southern horizon was a blanket of cloud. When it did finally clear the cloud though, it did give some decent golden light.
