Fun with #RigExpert.

I have an AA-30.Zero that was a gift when I got my license back in '16 or '17. Haven't fired it up since I got a NanoVNA, but the Antscope software is *so* nice. Tonight I tried to use it.

Nothing worked! LOTSA firmware updates and LOTSA software updates have happened.

It took hours, but I finally coaxed the fw to the latest, and got Antscope to almost the latest. The AA-30 will now read all the way up into 2mt!

Now that it's working, I can tweak my Hygain 18AVT.

Decided to build a more permanent version of the ‘Coastal 20’ non-resonant multiband. I’m surprised how well it works 😃

It’s not exactly meant for QRO, but that doesn’t matter, I’m mostly QRP, hardly ever above 10-20Watts.

Can’t wait to play with 17 and 12m, it’s quite rare I visit those bands 🙂

One of my "almost" finished projects - a #VNA based on the #RigExpert board. Other components include Display, RPi #Pico, BLE interface module and some smaller parts. Everything is controlled by a Power switch and a joystick. The antenna attached to the box is the test subject...
Analyzed the efhw antenna and optimized the length. First I had to find a fitting tree (there are a lot of young small trees here) and then throw the throwline for the first time (it's not as easy as it looks like). Still some room for improvements but good enough (the SWR). Could even use it for 70cm  #hamradio #rigexpert #efhw
Played with #RigExpert ZeroII board on the weekend... Started with #Arduino Nano but then switched to Rpi Pico W. Since I could only find C libraries for the board, I decided to write my own Micropython module to communicate with the device. So far so good...
