I'm such a nerd.

I'm setting up an old #AndysHamRadioLinux laptop to work with my newly-aquired #FT991A so that I can do #HamRadio things e.g. #FieldDay & possibly #POTA. Upgraded #fldigi & #flrig yesterday. Did a little #ReverseBeaconNetwork stuff. Made 2 #FT8 QSOs this morning to verify some settings I changed. But the laptop on WiFi cannot ADIF cast to my other CQRLog on ethernet (router security).

Pasted it as alt txt on a pic in a private mastodon message to nobody. Then copied on other.

LMAO, looks like my weekend #CQWW skimming effort really pushed #ReverseBeaconNetwork #RBN to the limits 😮😂

And LMAO x2, the 61MB file from yesterday unpacks to a CSV file, which weights a whole whopping 365 MB 😱😱😱

So what's happened to the #reversebeaconnetwork
More holiday #sota #SummitsOnTheAir fun. This time La Viorna EA1/CT-063 in the #picosdeeuropa, straight from La Viorna campsite. Lovely weather, beautiful views and plenty of room at the top. 20M #morsecode got me quite a few contacts, including Carlos @IU1KGS . Two more on 10M, when I tried 40M didn’t even get spotted by the #reversebeaconnetwork ? First time out with #K6ARK EFRW which I built to band hop with #elecraftkx2, seemed to do well in poor propagation conditions.
My antenna gets to see fantastic views, but not enough QSO s. The #rbn #reversebeaconnetwork shows that my QRP signal is perfectly copied all over Europe, but there are no takers. I even heard a Japanese station on 17m, and LU on 10m. So I conclude that the antenna works fine, the bands are open, there is just no activity. Except Ft8. Le sigh.

I prefer this one over the native RBN site.
I always use it for my #hamradio #reversebeaconnetwork information.

The #reversebeaconnetwork is a blessing.
You can check propagation and see what antenna works best etc.

The #reversebeaconnetwork is a curse.
It always shows my signals being picked up in all remote corners of the planet. Yet no one answers me from VK, ZL, PY, W6, JA, 3B8, BY...
VERY FRUSTRATING #hamradio #hfbands thing.

Now playing #CW as OT23WARD...
#SpecialEventStation for #worldamateurradioday

@wz4m
I always (habitually) have the #FTdx3000 set for VFO A and B.

But there's a button right there that changes VFO B instead to a CLAR(ifier).

I should practice with that sucker.

Tune with the big knob so their tone is down at 640-690Hz, then CLAR them up to 700Hz.

I THINK, then, my tone to them would be slightly above.

Going to experiment with the #ReverseBeaconNetwork to verify that's how it works in practice.

#HamRadio - I hadn't paid attention to anything on #ReverseBeaconNetwork except CW, but I noticed that it also skims for psk31 & psk63. I don't think I've ever done psk63. I think I'll fire off a few TX on that mode, and see if the RBN picks me up.

@KI5SMN @AI8W

#ReverseBeaconNetwork will decode you, but won't INCLUDE you in the report, if your morse string isn't compliant.

CQ CALLSIGN
or
TEST CALLSIGN

By putting "10W" and "QRP" before your callsign, you have forcibly excluded yourself from RBN.

Also: don't spell out "CALLING". That's what CQ means.

Don't spell out "OVER".
That's what "K" at the end means.

Do this:

CQ CQ KI5SMN KI5SMN K

That's it. That's all. RBN and other ops will grok that 100%.
