The summit of #SOTA OK/LI-004 Jizera (#WWFF OKFF-0851, #POTA CZ-0010) does not offer very much space for an antenna and is usually pretty crowded on weekends. You are also not allowed to leave the trails to make use of the activation zone - the nature reserve needs to be protected. On our way back from #France we visited our relatives north of #Frankfurt. The #Limes bike trail (#POTA DE-0941) is just a few meters from where my wife grew up. I had to take the opportunity for an activation, found a nice bench to sit on and had 17 QSOs on #40m and #20m in both #morsecode and #SSB. After a walk around Point du Meinga in the morning I was able to activate #POTA FR-9166 HAVRE DE ROTHENEUF and FR-2848 (#WWFF FFF-0072) - another first activation. The tide was low, but we found a dry spot some meters up well within the park’s boundaries. Despite an ongoing geomagnetic storm 27 QSOs were possible in 32 minutes on #20m and #40m in #morsecode with 10 W out. According to the #POTA map it’s possible to activate two entities directly at Saint-Malo: FR-5420 and FR-5421. So I set up my emergency #elecraftax2 antenna at the mole and hit the waves on #20m in #morsecode with 10 W of output power. There was no space to put up the #efhw without endangering the other pedestrians here. Thanks to the assistance of Larry F5PY today’s activation became a 3-fer: I took a walk along La Rance #POTA FR-2850, FR-10096, FR-5420 (#WWFF FFF-1502). Part of the track was closed due to erosion so I had to take a slight detour. A total of 54 QSOs on #40m and #20m both in #SSB and #morsecode were made in extremely sunny weather.
