I do think I’ll get a couple more #k6ark kits though I can’t really DIY those! A 9:1 random wire and a 49:1 20m seem useful.

I just did my first successful cw activation and used a 5w radio on my homemade #k6ark 49:1 antenna on 40m.

It got a little bumpy a couple times but honestly it wasn’t that much more awkward than a lot of ssb activations as far as people disappearing and/or not making sense.

Antenna update (#k6ark build): I cut a wire for 40m and left some extra on for now, but was still able to make a couple QRP CW contacts on 40m.

Next I'll heat shrink the toroid onto the PCB/BNC connector and try adding the small loading coil that is suggested for multiband (on harmonics) and see and then fine tune it for the CW portion of the bands.

I hope I left enough extra wire, but so far I can't see the SWR minimum on the band so hopefully it wont shift too much!

I’m really excited about this #K6ARK 49:1 antenna build. It will get a small loading coil when I attach the actual wire to the pigtail and get heat shrink after it’s tested. I’m doing a 40m EFHW to run directly out of my QRP radio.

More holiday #sota #SummitsOnTheAir fun. This time La Viorna EA1/CT-063 in the #picosdeeuropa, straight from La Viorna campsite. Lovely weather, beautiful views and plenty of room at the top. 20M #morsecode got me quite a few contacts, including Carlos @IU1KGS . Two more on 10M, when I tried 40M didn’t even get spotted by the #reversebeaconnetwork ? First time out with #K6ARK EFRW which I built to band hop with #elecraftkx2, seemed to do well in poor propagation conditions.

Trying to make a linked EFHW using #K6ARK technique

Cut a length to 10m, tune it, add the next length to 12 and it shifts resonance down. Shorten the side connected to the unun to tune back to 10. Connect in link, tune to 12m

Add the next length to 15m, double check the 12m and its also shifted

Id guess the antenna is coupling a bit and lengthening ?

I am going to pair it with a #K6ARK #efhw kit https://k6ark.com/kitsandparts/, and then make the EFHW based on his micro-traps to do 40/30/20 in that range in particular.
