📢 The White House released a statement announcing the extension of the ceasefire between #lebanon and Israel until FEB-18 this year.
Originally, the #ceasefire agreement had been scheduled to end on JAN-26, 2025, at exactly 4:00 am (local time). The deal should have seen the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon by the aforementioned date.

This morning, many displaced residents of the border areas in the Nabatieh region received calls on their phones from multiple international numbers, in which the ISR army spokesman, in a broken Arabic dialect, asked the residents not to return to their towns tomorrow, Sunday, and warned them against doing so.

To be clear, this ceasefire is exclusively between Lebanon and Israel. There has been no reduction of Israeli operations in Gaza or Lebanon so far.
It will begin at 4am local time and does not include any terms Lebanon hadn't offered from day one. Al Jazeera reports that this ceasefire deal is largely identical to UN resolution 1701.
