it is hard to picture where that leaves the fate of working class people around the world. in conjunction with climate and ecological collapse, the death toll of a world war and the resultant crisis could be in the billions.

now more than ever, we need to organize to halt imperialist warfare and prevent it from escalating to that scale. this requires the coordinated efforts of working people in every industry, spanning all national borders and all continents.

we need organized class struggle, we need #classwar, we need communist #revolution. nothing less than this can put an end to capitalist civilization, which would rather kill every last one of us in its death spiral.

In 1905 the first Russian Revolution broke out. Mass strikes and revolts lead to the establishment of the Russian parliament, ending the absolute power of the tsar.

Rosa Luxemburg felt confirmed in her revolutionary beliefs and celebrated the mass strike as the central weapon of the revolution. She wanted to be part of the real deal and decided to go back to Poland (with false papers). However, she was arrested after only a few months (together with her bf). She was bailed out after a few months and managed to leave to Finland, where she met Lenin.

The experience of the 1905 revolution became the foundation for Luxemburg's most influential work on revolutionary strategy, the pamphlet The Mass Strike, the Political Party and the Trade Unions. It caused a conflict within the SPD, which she won.
