Finished off my current Quar project tonight, a Toulmore infantry squad. I already have a standard bearer and a musician built and primed. These things are addictive. I'm going to be sorely tempted to paint the musician Kermit green with his little banjo.
But... I also love the idea of limited palettes so I picked up a few bottles from the LGS, built something weird looking, and we'll see what #fedipaint can turn it all into.
My first ever handpainted #quar miniatures 🤓
The lads are coming together.
Though I realized after I put on the basing texture paint that I forgot to prime the bases, so I'm nervously checking the dirt every time I pick them up.
I also got distracted and did a minor kitbash for this musical friend.
Setting the tractor to the side for now. It's time to build the infantry squad, so here's some headless Quar on parade
The Toulmore force keeps trucking along so next they get their support tractor. Fediverse, please meet the Twaenhyr.
I definitely understand why folks who play army scale games invest in airbrushes now. This thing's barely over 3" long and still felt massive to basecoat with a brush.
WIP Toulmore mortars. Toulmortars?
A pair of adorable pathfinders ready to lead the mortar team on a tromp through the woods and to a lookout so they can rain explosive death down on some Royalists.
I decided to stick with the teal pants. I figure that with all the other colors in their game world I can just say the grass is teal back home, so this is camo.
Finished up two of the officers from my Toulmorese force. You can tell they're officers because the coffee is hot and the cigarette isn't crumpled.
Started on the pathfinder scouts. I'm not sure yet about teal for the pants, but I'm curious to see how it shakes out.
