@bud_t @Geojoek @kr1st @wd9ewk what do you think about #QSLcards for #fedihams e.g. like #aprs, ok it is not a really technical challenge,ä

I got some so I could QSL with 4U1UN. If someone could write an app to search your logs for other stations that mention IRC coupons on their QRZ page, that’d be great, please and thank you! 😂

Alternately, comment on this thread or the swling post if you know of any cool stations we should check our logs for!

There are a lot of interesting topics in this episode, thanks!

I have a stack of international reply coupons I need to use this year. I had to get them from Die Post in Switzerland because that's how to get a QSL card back from the United Nations station 4U1UN. So I need to figure out 9 other IRC-using DX stations I've contacted toot suite!

The ARRL software contest should be for analyzing your logs to find IRC QSLers!

I just sent out about 150 #QSLcards with the QDure #qsl print service. Good for confirming ±350 incoming QSL requests via #clublog 's #OQRS system.

I should have sent one to myself to check the turnaround time.

I made over 23k QSO in 2025 with my own calls, excluding UBA SES calls.

Arnie’s New Year’s Radio Celebrations List

Arnie the DX Man has published his annual list of New Year celebrations on worldwide radio bands. The list starts on page 5.

Another list from me – this time I'm encouraging you to catch New Year 2026 celebrations from around the world with #shortwave, #mediumwave & #longwave #radio, as long as these broadcasts are still there & can be accessed either on your own radio or via remote SDRs 🌍docs.google.com/document/d/1…

Arnie the DXman (@arniedxer.bsky.social) 2025-12-30T17:24:30.419Z

The list includes lots of remote SDR opportunities, because international broadcasting on the airwaves has obviously diminished, compared to the 1980s.
Arnie starts with Kiribati, at 10:00 UTC, but the first real opportunity should be Radio New Zealand Pacific, on 13755 kHz at 11:00 UTC – the New Year’s eve program starts at 06:00 UTC (so it’s under way now), and according to Alan Roe, the program host "will often respond live on-air to emails received during the programme". So let’s keep him posted about the relevance of shortwave transmissions – and wish him and everyone there a happy new year.

Radio Taiwan International’s 2026 QSL Card Series, Medium Wave Transmission from Göteborg, and other Radio News

Japan

Radio Japan’s Mandarin service continues to air an "AI-voiced" daily news bulletin, retransmitted several times a day. The French service news is still read naturally. The Mandarin bulletin can currently be heard rather well here in NW Germany, from 14:00 to 14:10 UTC on 9750 kHz. The news is followed by a Japanese language course.

Slovakia

Radio Slovakia International appears to be saved (that’s what "Wavescan" previews suggest), and chances are that WRMI will continue to carry RSI’s English and Spanish services. However, the German service is no longer broadcast on shortwave, as the Kall-Krekel transmitter site in Germany has apparently ceased operation on the two frequencies that used to carry RSI programs (3985 and 6005 kHz).

Sweden

Medium wave test transmissions are scheduled from the Radiomuseet in Göteborg, Sweden, on the December 20 and 21 weekend. Frequency: 981 kHz.

Taiwan

Radio Taiwan International has announced its 2026 QSL card series. All of the twelve monthly editions will feature drawings by a Japanese listener, made during a stay of his in Taiwan.
