Last night I got home from teaching the #watercolor class and decided to sit down and paint. I’ve been having a hard time getting started so I picked one of the phenomenal bird photos from @Jgbird as a reference

Day 1 of a short 3-day #ArtChallenge I did this #WatercolorPainting in my #QoR #Watercolor except for the burnt umber. I'm calling it finished, even though it dried lighter than I expected. I took the ref photo last year at my kitchen table after coming home from the grocery.

I have almost all of these on my #Watercolor #Palette! The only one I left out was #Qor #PhthaloTurquoise since it's essentially a convenience mixture (I have both #PB15 and #PG7 on my palette). Lots of granulating #Pigments here, which I still find challenging to work with sometimes, but I couldn't pass up those unique hues!!!

Time for green! The whole top row made it onto my #Watercolor #Palette. I was really missing out not having #PG18 #Viridian all this time! From the bottom row, only #Qor #GreenGold and #DaVinci #PerlyneGreen made the cut. 😎🌿 Does anyone know the best hashtag for color swatches and the like? 🤔

I have a few of these yellows on my #Watercolor #Palette, but truthfully I don't use them much... they're mostly on there for mixing purposes, haha! #Sennelier #SophieYellow just replaced the #AzoYellow that I used for a long time. I don't know that I could explain my reasoning, I just... like it better! And of course that #Qor #QuinacridoneGold... 👩‍🍳👌💋

Next up, warm reds, oranges, and browns. That #Qor #PyrrolRed was a nice find, I had been looking for a vibrant red to add to my #Watercolor #Palette that was cooler than #PR188. The #DanielSmith earth tones are very nice to work with, I like that they're super rich and luscious. 🥰 They replaced burnt sienna and burnt umber on my palette because I realized I just never use them. Out with the old, in with the new!

#Qor is my absolute favorite #Watercolor. I fell in love with them when I tried their high chroma set, and have since tried a few other colors as well. They don't have a dot card of their full line either 😩 or else I probably would have added more of their colors too. #WatercolorWoes
