The most recent floor crossing in the canadian house of commons only furthers my thesis that:
1. You should care who your MP is regardless of Party Affilation & it should play a factor when voting
2. Prorep Electoral Reform must still have directly voting for candidates in a riding. (Stv, Open List, MMP with best runner up, DMP)

Very cool that the #Washington State legislature is considering HB 2210 a bill to allow cities to adopt #RankedChoiceVoting , including multi-winner RCV, which is a form of #proportionalRepresentation. https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=2210&Year=2025
A similar bill (SB 212, 2019) passed in California to be vetoed by Governor Newsom. If he'd signed it, more cities could experimenting with PR right now. But he'll be gone next year, so maybe we should try again! #ProRep #STV #California #democracy #CaLeg
@CraigSauve "A record number of people felt unrepresented and uninspired by the two old parties. In response, these parties ramped up their fear campaigns and called for strategic voting. But you know as well as I do that this cannot be a long-term solution: by holding our noses and voting for ‘the least worst’ option, our democracy will eventually run out of air."

"I have said it before and I will continue to say it: calling for electoral reform in Montreal is the only viable way to ensure better democratic representation. ...I call on the people of Montreal who support this idea...to write to your elected officials and put pressure on them. Make some noise. Your voice is strong and it has an impact." ~ @CraigSauve
