I’ve started doing my #dahlia preordering! When I did it last year the Emory Paul and Santa Claus were already sold out so psyched to get them…and ofc needed a pollinator friendly one too! What’s on everyone’s to buy list? 🌱 #gardening #pollinatorparadise #gardenfortheplanet
When I joined Mastodon I used a cross poster from Twitter but I’ve just discovered it stopped working so none of my posts have come here for a month! Here are some photos from the garden to make up for not being here. How are everyone’s gardens doing!? #Gardening #GardenForThePlanet #PollinatorParadise #Pollinators
Evening @[email protected]! This week I’ve mostly been tucked up in bed sick, but the few times I’ve left I’ve been eagle eyed watching the bulbs come up, and today spotted my Heather actually in bloom! Just hope the 🐝 find it #PollinatorParadise #GardenForThePlanet #GardensHour
I bought this Parrot Echinacea late last year when there was basically nothing to see - hence the stone ring to avoid digging it up. But there’s a teeny bit of red growth happening! I’m very excited for it to turn into the second photo (hopefully). A great plant for 🐝 and 🦋 . A great one to add to your #PollinatorParadise. Anyone have a favourite echinacea - show me!? #GardenForThePlanet
Hellebore and Jasmine are both great sources of early food for pollinators and well worth including in your gardens. Plus they offer a bit of interest and colour when not much else is around! What does everyone have right now to help #GardenForThePlanet?#Garden #PollinatorParadise
My pussy willow, or Salix caprea, is starting to get tiny little buds. I only bought this little guy in the autumn so I’m very excited to see what happens in the next few months. They are a top source of early nectar for pollinators including the purple emperor butterfly! A very worthwhile plant to get in the garden if you can. #PollinatorParadise #pollinators #GardenForThePlanet
Ive got seeds!! Yesterday four deliveries turned up - two were seed swaps with friends, one had flowers from the RHS, and one was a giant haul of (mostly) veg seeds. V excited for all of these…now, to find room…anyone get seeds over Christmas? What did you get? Show us your haul! #gardening #GardenForThePlanet #PollinatorParadise
There are plants happening in the garden, and tasks already piling up after a couple of weeks out of the garden. Up first, I need to get a trellis up for the Jasmine that’s starting to say hello - that and the hellebore are solid early pollinator food so need to give them the best chance! #PollinatorParadise #GardenForThePlanet #Gardening
It’s a little late for planting bulbs but I took a punt on these, on sale, little beauties. Crocuses are a great source of early pollinator nectar so was determined to try. Plus - better in the ground than on the shelf. You really want to try and provide food all year round, so why not rescue a bag and give it a go! 🐝🌼 #gardening #PollinatorParadise #GardenForThePlanet
I cracked and bought yet more seeds. As an @[email protected] member you get access to a range of interesting seeds at only £10 for 15 packs...so bought a bunch to go in the #PollinatorParadise and beyond #Gardening #GardenForThePlanet
