I bought this Parrot Echinacea late last year when there was basically nothing to see - hence the stone ring to avoid digging it up. But there’s a teeny bit of red growth happening! I’m very excited for it to turn into the second photo (hopefully). A great plant for 🐝 and 🦋 . A great one to add to your #PollinatorParadise. Anyone have a favourite echinacea - show me!? #GardenForThePlanet
@Lucy_Brewer I love the Dreamcoat ones from Mr Fothergills, must admit I've struggled to get them to germinate sometimes though, so any tips would be appreciated.
@torin8 oh they look lovely. Alas I cheated and bought this as a plant, rather than growing it from seed. Did you try stratification before putting them in the soil? If not - try popping some of them in the fridge for a month, and then sow them? It might work 🤞🏻
@Lucy_Brewer Oh yes, might have to give that a try this time. I do love an Echinacia... I'd rip out my whole lawn for them if I could.
@torin8 they are very dreamy aren’t they - and great for our garden helpers - the pollinators. I’d love to see how they go this year if you try the stratification process :). Good luck!
@Lucy_Brewer Thanks, will try and post something when I do!
