about Paris

a density
a curve
distinct

cigarette
soot in the
drains, tiles
avoiding white

city of cities

and yet
to live here
would be to be
miserable.

Beast of grief, Gaza
Words run into the Sea.

Content screams around the world,
Carried by a wind of eyes.

In the courthouse in The Hague,
a woman silently reads an argument,
then she takes her place
in front of the red light
of the microphone, and speaks.

In the dunes where judges take their lunches
Blue snails exult.
Under low clouds
Sea tasting rain
Makes grasses dance.

Details

• Depending on how traditional you feel, 3-line verses use the pattern 5, 7, 5 beats, and 2-line verses 7, 7 beats.
• Don't worry about connecting your lines; they will be rearranged later to make a "coherent" poem.
• Avoid obvious words such as "union" and "solidarity" to minimize duplication.
• Since we are an international community, non-English verse will be accepted, provided I can verify the contents using Deep L.

I will arrange and edit, using portions of all good-faith contributions, and publish on May 1st in Japan and the US. All contributors will be credited unless you specify otherwise.
