Happy to see out our latest work on studying animal body size variations using single cell transcriptomics to measure gene expression of individual cells. Learned my fair bit of statistics here, and most importantly I learned how to build wrapper functions for "complex" tasks in R (such as differntial gene expression) in a modular way. #Planarians (triclads) are free-living flatworms of the class Turbellaria,[2][3] order Tricladida,[4] which includes hundreds of species, found in freshwater, marine, and terrestrial habitats.[5] Planarians are characterized by a three-branched

I attended the #zoodny2024 conference in recent days. My question: Does that place also have planarians? (I'm not counting the ones present on my poster!) Of course, it does have #planarians; the river is cca 100 m from the venue. Here's a regenerating Polycelis sp. from Ostrava.

Monday was #microscopy day on Twitter. So here is some of my last work. Anterior part of Microplana terrestris - land #planarians are almost stupidly fragile so I accidental teared worm apart. was asked to grab some samples of #planarians that i posted on iNat last week, and now I'm watching them wriggle around very hypnotically on my desk:
