Today I gave up on the home of Pinry ever being updated (alas!) and moved my "Pinterest"-style collection of images to PiGallery2.

I had to work out how to export all the existing images in Pinry into a format that saved descriptions, tags and Boards so that they would work in PiGallery2. In the process I learned about sidecars and .xmp files.

It took about 3 hours - but I honestly feel it was worth it.

Цікавий проєкт #photoprism, але якогось біса на мапі світу Крим кацапський. І наче розробник з Німеччини, і по коду мапа мала б бути локальною, але ні - завантажується з CDN `maps.photoprism.app`...

Коротше, ну його в сраку, піду краще розбиратись на яких файлах падає індексація в #pigallery2 і як це виправити.

@samcre tried all of them and ended with #icloud 😄 #photoprism is a heavy thing and needs some money for the interesting functions, also only a webapp and iOS will ditch PWAs soon and its running scheduled jobs before it shows new pictures :/ #immich is not production ready and they say ‚don’t use as primary solution‘, #pigallery2 is pretty simple but gets the basics, #nextcloud|s photo features didn’t catch me and the picture upload often stopped working.

I recently discovered a very nice little foss application called #pigallery2.
It's a 'very fast' (I mean really fast) directory-first photo gallery website that you can (self-)host.
It has very straight-forward method to install, is very easy to use and has all the essentials if you're looking for a 'broswer' for your photos -and videos-.
