ā Virve Hyysalo ā is a Senior Service Designer who works at ā Pentagon Design.ā In this interview, we talk about all the coādesign work that went into creating the ā Oodi Libraryā in Helsinki. She walks us through the methods they used, and how these approaches made it possible to include different marginalized groups in the design process. We move from the big picture to the tiny detailsāreally diving into how this project was shaped with care, attention, and love. Can flawed AI-generated images be better for design than accurate ones?
In a new #CSCW2025 paper, @jaguridi et al. explore using image-generative AI as a boundary object in participatory processes to design public spaces.
Their key finding: Imperfect, unexpected images, which they term conversational imperfects, prompted richer and more space-aware conversations with participants than accurate images (fake perfects") did.
