Met up with other participants of the 1m2 flax project in the Netherlands. Everyone brought their results, ranging from bunches of hackled fibres to beautiful woven cloths. Afterwards we embroidered outside on antique local linen using linen yarn dyed in Lithuania. Was inspired to finally try weaving with my own yarn. Progress on the Spring Landscape embroidery! Trying to figure out how to do the blossoming tree on the left, as that one stands in front of future satin stitched fields. I tried to embroider French knots on top of a satin stitch hedge on the left, but feel that the knots almost disappear. Hoping people can advice or share their experience. I'm also not so sure about the fence,
might redo it. I see I also forgot to stitch a post.

Can’t concentrate so I learned Tunisian crochet (https://youtu.be/ZbMDz4egpVU), which is a technique that produces fabrics with square (1:1) stitches. The obvious thing for me to do is to make small 8×8 squares (with margins) and embroider them with tiny pixel art. (From what I saw embroidery looks better than changing colours, and it’s also easier). Searching "8x8" on r/PixelArt yielded some results, including these masterpieces by @johanvinet that manage to compress a mind-boggling amount of recognisability into 64 pixels with 16 colours:

I was finally able to get my mending and art skills to the point where I could combine the two.

This was my first ever attempt at embroidery. I wanted to repair a damaged cuff on a shirt I thrifted, but I wanted to make it fun! I feel like I have a little buddy on my sleeve now.

I need to get some more stuff to repair like this now.
